Job Description:
The user experience designer must be a tireless user advocate in search of defining usable solutions, looking for opportunity and validation through traditional research and non-traditional observation. You must be a great listener and understand the user’s conceptual model as well as be able to stand firm on your convictions and influence peers when needed. You must be able to translate observed opportunities into engaging user experiences through rapid iterations of design and testing. You will work with a product owner, graphic designers and software engineers to identify valuable product opportunities and test potential solutions through quick prototypes as necessary.
What is the work the candidate will be doing?
- Work closely with developers to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed design prototypes
- Develop concept models and prototypes to help business stakeholders envision proposed technology solution
- Lead participatory design sessions and contextual evaluations to provide client groups with UI expertise and guidance
- UX Designer will contribute to all facets of design to make a great product
- Make interfaces that are beautiful and elegant
- Ensure information is structured in a way that makes the most sense
- Create interactions that are enjoyable
- Develop user interaction and interface deliverables, including sketches, wireframes, visual designs
- Collaborate with team members (product managers, front end developers, and other UX designers) through the entire design and development process
- Be a champion for users' needs from requirements gathering through implementation
- Coordinate and administer user testing, usability testing and project evaluations
- Guide developmental teams in application of user-centered design principles
- Conceptualize and implements interaction design concepts in online environments
- Make design recommendations based on usability standards and best practices
- Generate presentation solutions (workflow, information and navigation architecture, layout, taxonomy, templates)
- Ensure consistency across solutions delivered by the organizations
- Participate in design reviews, critiques and possess the ability to take direction from management
- Define Human Factors standards to foster creating suite of initiative, branded applications and tools
- Conduct ongoing research on web-based and mobile user interface development best practices
- Analyze results from usability evaluations, make recommendations for improvements based on Human Factors guidelines and best practices
What are the required qualifications?
- Fluent with a range of design blueprinting and UI modeling tools
- Extensive experience with Usability Testing
- Proven ability to interpret and translate technical information into business language and vice versa
- Experience in web and mobile design
- Fluency with web and mobile standards and technologies
- Experience with methodologies such as Iterative Development, Agile, etc.
- Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue resolution
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional tam
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and as a presenter
- Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical ability and intellectual curiosity
- Experience working with BPM, Web and ERP applications a plus
